Peterborough Schoolgirl Joins National Psoriasis Awareness Campaign

A young girl with long brown hair and clear glasses smiles at the camera while standing next to a brown pole and a basket of green and yellow artificial flowers.

The images were taken as part of this year’s Psoriasis Awareness Week, which begins on World Psoriasis Day (Thursday 29th October) and explores the theme of age. Featuring children, teenagers, adults and older people, the new images will support the charity’s refreshed identity following its recent name change to Psoriasis UK.

Nine-year-old Evelyn, who has had scalp psoriasis from a young age, is one of the campaign’s young stars. Seen in the photos enjoying leisure time with her parents and younger sister, Evelyn took part in the photoshoot to build her own confidence and become a role model for others with the condition.

Other photos show participants living their ‘daily lives’ with psoriasis, including enjoying coffee, shopping and walking in nature. The images will be shared widely during Awareness Week alongside stories from some of the photoshoot participants.

A Parent's View

Speaking on the day of the shoot, Evelyn’s mum, Heidi Clark, said:

Evelyn started her journey in April 2024, before being officially diagnosed a few months later. That summer, Evelyn decided to raise money for Psoriasis UK and made videos on social media to help raise awareness.

We are incredibly proud of her. We have been in a constant cycle of working with GPs, consultants and dermatology teams trying to find the best way to treat Evelyn’s psoriasis. With her local hospital now not providing her care, we are making monthly trips to Great Ormond Street where Evelyn has been given medication to hopefully help her. Life is now a cycle of managing Evelyn’s symptoms, which change all the time, and helping to raise awareness for not only ourselves, but for others too.

The Charity's View

Psoriasis UK Deputy Chief Executive Laura Stevenson added:

Psoriasis Awareness Week is a very important time of year in which we can focus on specific aspects of the condition. This year's theme is age, shining a much-needed spotlight on the ways psoriasis may affect a person throughout their life.

Throughout the campaign, we'll be sharing images from our most recent photoshoot showing how people at every age, like Evelyn, can continue to live their lives with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. While it may seem small, this representation shows that psoriasis is just one part of someone’s story. It proves that it does not have to stand in the way of living a happy, active life.

Free Online Webinar

Psoriasis Awareness Week 2026 will conclude with a webinar, ‘Psoriasis Through Life: What Do We Know Now?’ hosted by Psoriasis UK and St Johns DermAcademy on Wednesday 4th November. This free online event will continue to explore the theme of ‘age’, and features talks from leading UK dermatology experts.

More information regarding Psoriasis Awareness Week is available on the Psoriasis Awareness Week 2026 page.
